Mr. Khalid Al Yahmadi
Mr. Khalid Al Yahmadi is the chairman founder of Amjaad Group, a leading investment and development corporation in the Sultanate of Oman that focuses on the development of real estate, hospitality, tourism, and renewable energy sectors.
Mr. Al Yahmadi an engineer by background, is also the founder and former CEO of Muscat National Development and Investment Company (ASAAS), a public-private partnership aimed at generating long-term sustainable social and economic benefit for Oman. Under his leadership, ASAAS launched several innovative projects, such as Salam Air, Oman’s first low-cost airline, Hilton Garden Inn, a four-star hotel in Muscat, A’Raya Complex, a mixed-use development that includes the Royal Academy of Management, a state-of-the-art facility for training civil servants, a hotel and a commercial podium, Hay Al Sharq, a mixed-use development that includes an amusement park, a water park, a mall, and a hotel, , and Hafa Project, a coastal resort that offers luxury villas and apartments. In addition, ASAAS created various cutting-edge facilities for Oman Air.
Prior to founding Amjaad Holdings, Mr. Al Yahmadi worked for renowned construction, real estate development and international engineering organisations in the region. He has extensive experience of working with government and private sector institutions including banks and financial institutions in providing expert advice. He was the first leader to introduce Islamic banking and finance in the Sultanate by organizing the flagship conference in 2011 – Oman Islamic Economic Forum, well before the initiation of Islamic banking and finance operations in the country.
Mr. Al Yahmadi has attended various management development programmes at Harvard University, London Business School and is a regular speaker at the annual Islamic Finance Leadership Programme hosted at the prestigious Cambridge University in the UK.
Mr. Al Yahmadi is a visionary leader who aims to add value to his stakeholders while also contributing to Oman’s social and economic development. He supports Oman’s Vision 2040, which emphasizes real estate development as a vital driver in diversifying the economy away from oil and gas. He is also committed to implementing sustainable business practices and complying to international norms and protocols.
